Volunteer Opportunities

We have volunteer opportunities for ophthalmologists and optometrist, as well as all levels of ophthalmic support staff at our clinics located in Ghana, West Africa and Honduras, Central America.

CEM associated clinics are open year round (except Easter & Christmas holidays), are fully equipped and have well trained full time staff. Volunteers are needed in various capacities including training, mentoring, medical treatment and diagnosis as well as surgical interventions. Because the clinics are open year round, dates for volunteer trips are flexible. Trips are typically 1-2 weeks but it is not at all unusual to have volunteers work from 6 weeks to a year if their schedule allows. Retired ophthalmologists are welcome; residents need to work with a licensed ophthalmologist. Family members are always welcome. To volunteer, fill out the form below:
